Did Marcel’s philosophy of secrets achieve a push to the thought? People tend to hide secrets: his origins, his destiny, his existence, he is a collection of secrets. And above of all secrets, the secret of the existence or – according to Marcel - the ontology secret. Its different from the secrets of faith, or theology secrets.

Faith is built on believing in unseen things. Or we couldn’t have called it faith. And it’s the main difference between faith and science. The topic of science are facts, while the topic of faith are secrets.  The facts of science are logical and solid and can be searched and studied. While the secrets of faith are mysterious and unclear. When we listen to it I feel more than my self-awareness; and most of the time what talks to us in silence is the language of secrets. A secret has the trait of presence, it appears in Christianity in the case of religion, we don’t invent it, we believe in it.

And now we ask ourselves: what about the philosophical effectiveness?

Was Marcel able to transmit the secrets of faith, the theology secrets, to the metaphysics of secrets, so its able to a starting point to all possible metaphysics to be a metaphysics of secret?

    Description

Did Marcel’s philosophy of secrets achieve a push to the thought? People tend to hide secrets: his origins, his destiny, his existence, he is a collection of secrets. And above of all secrets, the secret of the existence or – according to Marcel - the ontology secret. Its different from the secrets of faith, or theology secrets.

It is not a book about the religion of the churches but an effort to interpret the whole contemporary situation from the point of view of one who constantly inquires what fundamental faith is expressed in the forms which civilization takes.

What if imagination and art are not, as many of us might think, the frosting on life but the fountainhead of human experience? What if our logic and science derive from art forms, rather than the other way around? In this trenchant volume, Rollo May helps all of us find those creative impulses that, once liberated, offer new possibilities for achievement. A renowned therapist and inspiring guide, Dr. May draws on his experience to show how we can break out of old patterns in our lives.
